Another fine summer school, this time in Donegal, is The Patrick Mc Gill Summer School held in the small town of Glenties. This festival was established back in 1981 and celebrates Patrick McGill, otherwise known as the ‘Navvy Poet’.
The Patrick McGill Summer School hosts an array of different lectures, exhibitions and events. The festival’s themes tend to be of a social nature and prominent figures in public life are discussed. The school has had many accomplished artists, politicians, musicians and writers from a wide range of disciplines speak at the event.
